My Favourite Musician
Music plays an important role in our life. We can do many different things and listen to music. I like to cook, to clean the home or garden while music is on.
I like different types of music. I have many favorite songs and even favorite singers. I listen to Russian and English songs. But my favorite musician is Konstantin Meladze.
According me he is an outstanding person. He writes beautiful songs and music. His songs are about love, peace, hope and harmony. I like to listen to them and to have some inspiration. Many singers sing his songs and they are popular in Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Kazakhstan and many different countries. I like Konstantin and his art.
Another musician that I admire is Igor Krutoi. I can not say that all his songs are good. But they sound completely different from others. Today many singers sing the same songs and lyrics look so similar. But Igor can write a song about love and it’s gonna be a really nice story.
In general I can not say there are many good musicians today. Someone thinks it’s easy to write a poem or a song. But rhyme is not the only thing. There has to be some sense and idea. I guess a good love song can be written only from a love story. The musician needs to have or experience or good imagination.
I would like to become a musician one day. I think these people are really talented. When you can play music and share your mood with people. Melody can tell us if the musician was happy or sad while he was writing it.
History remembers many outstanding and famous musicians. We still remember Mozart, Beethoven, Chopin and so on. But I think there were much more genius who could write beautiful music but people never paid attention to them.

It is difficult to live without music. We hear music everywhere: in the streets, at home, over the radio and on TV, in the shops, in the parks and in the concert halls, at the seaside, sometimes in the forest. We can’t live without music. We like to listen to music, we enjoy dancing to music, we can play musical instruments. Music is a combination of many sounds. They are short and long, weak and strong. Music reflects peoples mood and emotions. Some people are fond of folk music. There are numerous folk groups in our country. It is interesting to listen to their music and songs. Last week my friends and I visited a concert of folk music. This concert made a great impression on us. Some people are fond of classical music, but young people prefer modern music: rap, rock and pop music. If you want to listen to modern music you can attend the music halls and the concerts of popular groups and singers. I like to listen to the songs by our Russian popular singers. They are talented singers and composers, and I like to attend their concerts. My friends and I buy tickets beforehand and often take flowers for our favourite singers. Both classical and modern music are popular in our country. My friend Mike is fond of classical music. Sometimes he spends his free time, listening to music by Wolfgang Mozart and other composers. The Fourth symphony and the Sixth symphony by Shostakovich strongly impressed him.

Музыка играет важную роль в нашей жизни. Мы можем заниматься разными делами и слушать любимую музыку. Мне нравится готовить, убирать дома и в саду и чтобы музыка играла на фоне.
Мне по душе разные направления музыки. У меня есть много любимых песен и даже певцов. Я слушаю русские и английские песни. Но мой любимый музыкант — Константин Меладзе.
Я считаю, что он — выдающийся человек. Он пишет красивые песни и музыку. Его песни о любви, мире, надежде и гармонии. Мне нравится слушать их и заряжаться мотивацией и вдохновением. Многие исполнители поют его песни и они очень популярны в России, Украине, Беларуси, Казахстане и многих других странах. Мне очень нравится Константин и его творчество.
Ещё один музыкант, которым я восхищаюсь — Игорь Крутой. Не могу сказать, что все его песни хороши, но они звучат совершенно по-другому. Сегодня многие исполнители поют одно и то же, слова песен практически одинаковые. Но Игорь пишет песни о любви и через них рассказывает очень красивые истории.
Вообще не могу сказать, что сегодня есть много хороших музыкантов. Кому-то кажется, что написать песню или слова к песне довольно просто. Но рифма- это не все, что должно присутствовать в словах. Ещё должны быть смысл и идея. Я полагаю, хорошая песня о любви должна быть написана на основе реальной истории. Музыканту нужен или опыт или хорошее воображение.
Я бы хотела стать музыкантом однажды. Я думаю, что эти люди действительно талантливые. Когда ты можешь написать музыку и поделиться своим настроением со слушателем, это так здорово. Мелодия может рассказать нам, был ли музыкант в хорошем или плохом настроении, когда писал ее.
История помнит много выдающихся и известных музыкантов. Мы будем долго помнить Моцарта, Бетховена, Шопена и многих других. Хотя мне кажется, что талантливых музыкантов было гораздо больше, просто люди мало обращают внимания на искусство.

В современном мире сложно представить человека, у которого нет любимого жанра музыки, любимой песни или артиста. Среди множества музыкальных направления я выделяю рок. Часто, при знакомстве с человеком, одним из главных вопросов является предпочтения в музыке, именно по этому можно уже сделать некие догадки по поводу характера самого собеседника.
Для меня музыка имеет не малую важность в жизни, благодаря любимым исполнителям я могу отвлечься от проблем, вспомнить хорошие моменты, вдохновится и помечтать. По сути я могу назвать себя меломаном, так как слушаю много чего, но основным направлением я выделяю рок. Многим известна группа The Beatles, она стала мне открытием в мире рок-музыки, а в дальнейшим и причиной пойти в музыкальную школу. Я начал играть на гитаре, следуя за кумирами, начал более вникать в мир музыки и её историю.
Сам я восхищаюсь творческими людьми, не важно, какую музыку ты играешь, главное, что ты занимаешься любимым делом и даришь радость другим. В основном я отдаю предпочтению року тех времен, когда мои родители еще были маленькими. Конечно, сейчас больше возможностей, но это не значит, что тексты и музыка наполнены качеством. Как было сказано ранее, помимо рока, я могу слушать и другие стили, для меня лишь важно-качество и смысл. К сожалению в последнее время не часто можно найти музыку идеальную по всем параметрам.
Зачастую нынешние музыканты становятся популярными, за счет эпатажа и красивых шоу. Но мне, как человеку давно изучающему историю музыки это не допустимо. Поэтому я стараюсь следовать качественным исполнителям, а так же прививать любовь к музыке людей, которые окружают меня.

There are so many kinds of music in our life. For example, rap and pop music, rock and alternative music, industrial and disco music, drum & bass and techno music, and, of course, classic music. Different people like different music. The scientists say that they can define your character if they know what music you like. For example, they suppose that people who listen rock music are very clever and reasonable. British scientists confirm that the most of young people listen to the aggressive music as metal and rock. Scientists say that these people are good students, because of their character and assiduousness. I agreewith this statement, because I think that music shows your soul and nature. As for me, my favorite group is “Linkin Park”. They sing in different styles, such as: alternative, new metal, heavy metal and rock. I like this group because of good texts and unusual musical decisions. This group was formed in 1996. They released 9 albums. I like all their songs without distinction. My favorite song is “In The End”. There are six men in this group: Chester Bennington, Mike Shinoda, Rob Burdon, David Farell, Bred Delson and Joe Hahn. The most prominent person of the group is Chester Bennington. He is very talented. Also I like him because he overcame his drug addiction and made his musical career. Nowadays he is taken the 27th place in the hit parade list of “100 of all times top heavy metal vocalists”. He writes poems and composes music. I always adored people who compose music and write poems. I think that such people are very talented. Also I believe that they can draw pictures and show their feelings by their music or poems. They can make you cry or laugh. Moreover they make you think about global problems or you may lie soft and just dream while you are listening to the music. I guess that we can’t live without music. My motto is: “Silence is killing!” As for me, I always listen to the music, when I’m happy or when I’m unhappy. It helps me in my everyday life. I listen to the music everywhere: at home, in the bus, in the street. Nowadays we have relaxing music, which we use in medicine. More helpful than all kinds of music is classic music by such famous composers as Bach, Beethoven, Mozart and Vivaldy. Music is everywhere! It’s on television, over radio, in all movies! Can you imagine any movie without music?! Of course not. What if you watch television without sound, what if you see ballet without music, what if you hear voices without melody at the opera? Music in my life
I like rock music, because this kind of music helps me to relax, think and keep calm. My favorite musician is Marilyn Manson. Im a fan of him because his songs helped me in difficult period of my life. He also was my motivation for learning English, because I wanted to understand his songs, but I couldnt. I began to play his songs the guitar and it was great.
My friends dont have the same musical tastes. They prefer other kinds of music. But it doesnt matter, because we are friends.

I like guitar music, as this kind of music makes me happy and romantic. It helps me to relax after a hard day of study. My favorite singer is Evanescence. Im a fan of her and particularly of her lyrical acoustic songs. They are so deep and sincere. My friends also like such music and this is our hobby to listen to it and play it in a band. I play the guitar and sing and feel this music deep in my soul. Ive been listening to this music for 6 years and it really has changed my life!

I like music very much. I really can’t imagine my life without it. It makes me feel all the emotions I have to feel right now. Also it helps me in some difficult situations to relax or it raises my mood. Without music I really can’t leave my house. Probably I hear the music every day and everywhere. I think, that life without music is quite boring and unhappy.
Most of all I like modern music. It’s hip-hop music, r’n’b music, even sometimes rap. I think that this kind of music turns me on and makes my day better. But also I listen to the classical music sometimes, because this kind of music is immortal.
My favourite singer is Rihanna. I like her because of her songs and voice. I think, she has a really beautiful voice. Also her lyrics are good too. You can listen to them and see some truth in her words. She sings with all of her soul and she gives all emotions she has. It’s like you’re living in all her songs.
My favourite musical group is 30 Seconds to Mars. I like them for their extraordinary songs with some sense. They are cool guys and they write good songs. I guess, they can be the best musical group of the year.
I listen to all of this music quite often. I listen to it every day when I have such opportunity. I think I have been listening to them since they became famous. I really appreciate everything they write and sing. That’s how I feel it.
My favourite music makes me feel happy. It helps me to understand myself, my inside I. I think that it helps me in difficult emotional situations to find a right solution. That’s how I feel it.
I think that lyrics are very important in songs, because it’s a great pleasure to listen to some meaningful songs and understand the real purpose of it. But there are such songs where tune is very pleasant itself and there is no need in lyrics to enjoy it. Some words really can help you to solve some problems. Other words can help to relax.
But all in all both of them: words and music is really important in a song. The most popular names of singers of my friends are: Rihanna, Adam Lambert and Beyonce. The most popular names of musical groups of my friends are: Linkin’ Park, the JLS. Generally my friends listen to the music of these singers. We think, that they are the greatest. It is quite common for my friends to choose modern kind of music, because we’re living in such world, where it’s modern and cool. Most of people say that they feel happy themselves, when they’re listening to these singers. But some of us feel sad, because there are some moments from their lives that are connected with such music. It’s typical of teenagers to think that life without music will be boring. It’s all be cause of our world of art, music, kinoes and so on. We think, that we shouldn’t make the sense of our life of music. It must be only part of our life, but not the whole life.
Music is a focus of my life. I attend a musical school and it’s very interesting for me to realize that I can play a musical instrument. I play the piano. It’s like you play your life, your emotions. And when people listen to my music, they feel all my emotions; they understand me and my mood. I think, it’s very important.

My Favourite Musician
Music plays an important role in our life. We can do many different things and listen to music. I like to cook, to clean the home or garden while music is on.
I like different types of music. I have many favorite songs and even favorite singers. I listen to Russian and English songs. But my favorite musician is Konstantin Meladze.
According me he is an outstanding person. He writes beautiful songs and music. His songs are about love, peace, hope and harmony. I like to listen to them and to have some inspiration. Many singers sing his songs and they are popular in Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Kazakhstan and many different countries. I like Konstantin and his art.
Another musician that I admire is Igor Krutoi. I can not say that all his songs are good. But they sound completely different from others. Today many singers sing the same songs and lyrics look so similar. But Igor can write a song about love and it’s gonna be a really nice story.
In general I can not say there are many good musicians today. Someone thinks it’s easy to write a poem or a song. But rhyme is not the only thing. There has to be some sense and idea. I guess a good love song can be written only from a love story. The musician needs to have or experience or good imagination.
I would like to become a musician one day. I think these people are really talented. When you can play music and share your mood with people. Melody can tell us if the musician was happy or sad while he was writing it.
History remembers many outstanding and famous musicians. We still remember Mozart, Beethoven, Chopin and so on. But I think there were much more genius who could write beautiful music but people never paid attention to them.

Вообще не могу сказать, что сегодня есть много хороших музыкантов. Кому-то кажется, что написать песню или слова к песне довольно просто. Но рифма- это не все, что должно присутствовать в словах. Ещё должны быть смысл и идея. Я полагаю, хорошая песня о любви должна быть написана на основе реальной истории. Музыканту нужен или опыт или хорошее воображение.
Я бы хотела стать музыкантом однажды. Я думаю, что эти люди действительно талантливые. Когда ты можешь написать музыку и поделиться своим настроением со слушателем, это так здорово. Мелодия может рассказать нам, был ли музыкант в хорошем или плохом настроении, когда писал ее.
История помнит много выдающихся и известных музыкантов. Мы будем долго помнить Моцарта, Бетховена, Шопена и многих других. Хотя мне кажется, что талантливых музыкантов было гораздо больше, просто люди мало обращают внимания на искусство.

The variety of musical styles makes it hard to know everything about them. Musicians invent new styles and trends. Some of these styles become classics, others lose their popularity in the course of time. But thanks to this diversity every person can find his or her favourite style.
I like listening to music. However, I only listen to it in certain situations. For example, I always switch on my player and listen to music when I have to travel somewhere far. A lot of people turn on their record players when they do some routine work. As for me, I love listening to music when I tidy up my house. I like English and Russian songs. My favourite musical style is pop. I like it because these songs are very simple and you can listen to this kind of music in any situation. It suits every mood. There are a lot of songs which I know by heart and enjoy singing them along with the singer.
I don’t like heavy music. It makes me feel depressed. However, I like listening to the legends of classical rock, such as Scorpions. Their songs cannot be compared to modern ones.
Sometimes I just turn on tranquil melodies. It can be sound of waves or other sounds of nature. This type of music helps me to relax after a long day. Usually this music playson low volume somewhere in the background. I can switch it on when I study as it helps to be in the right mood.
There is no doubt that music plays a significant role in our life. It helps to relax. It helps to release the energy. It adds some fun to parties. It creates special atmosphere during a romantic date. It benefits little babies. It unites people. And these points are just a few to name. Music brightens our life and I am glad that every person in the world can find his or her own favourite type of music.

Музыка в современном мире присутствует повсеместно. Вокруг так много разных музыкальных стилей: поп музыка, рэп, альтернативная, рок, диско, техно, драм-энд-бэйс и, конечно же, бессмертная классика. Разным людям в зависимости от вкусов и предпочтений нравится разная музыка.
Ученые утверждают, что, зная музыкальные предпочтения человека, можно определить его характер. С этим утверждением я согласен, потому что думаю, что музыка может показать натуру и душу. К примеру, они считают, что люди, слушающие рок, умны и рассудительны.
Что касается меня, то я люблю слушать «Мельницу». Эта группа поет в стиле фолк рок. В их репертуаре много варяжских, скандинавских, английских и многих других баллад. Мне нравится эта группа из-за необычной музыки и хороших текстов. Каждая их песня имеет глубокий смысл и представляет собой целую историю. Они создают при помощи музыки волшебный мир, населенный рыцарями, викингами, валькириями и множеством волшебных существ. Кроме этого, их солистка имеет необычайный голос, мне кажется, такой талант рождается крайне редко.
Я восхищаюсь людьми, которые могут сами создавать музыку. Я, к сожалению, таким талантом обделен. В моем понимании, такие люди могут показывать чувства, рисовать картины с помощью своих песен. Они способны заставить слушателя смеяться или плакать, задуматься о важном и вечном.
Важно, чтобы музыка была качественной. Мне не нравится, когда она не несет в себе никакого смысла, кроме первобытных инстинктов. К сожалению, множество современной поп-музыки пошло именно по этому пути. Думаю, без музыки жить нельзя, она везде. Я всегда слушаю музыку вне зависимости от настроения. Кто не любит слушать музыку? Независимо от того, какое у нас настроение – плохое или хорошее, мы время от времени включаем любимую песню. А она, в свою очередь, либо успокаивает нас, либо напротив – заставляет впадать в меланхолию.
Жизнь без музыки была бы скучна и уныла. Только представьте себе дискотеку в полной тишине или праздник без музыкантов. Абсолютно все люди в мире небезразличны к музыке. Жанры, которые наиболее популярны, — это рок, реп, попса, техно, шансон, хип-хоп и многие другие. Существую и другие, весьма специфические жанры. Например, народная музыка, классическая музыка, духовная, а также такие интересные жанры, как блюз и джаз.
Вы когда-нибудь замечали, что человек, разделяющий ваши предпочтения в музыке, находит с вами общий язык намного быстрее, чем тот, у кого вкусы совершенно отличны от ваших? Многие считают, что музыка – это, в первую очередь, инструмент души. Наверное, так оно и есть.

Music in My Life
Music occupies an important place in our life. We can’t live without it. People have different musical tastes depending on their age, education and even mood. Some people like classical music, others prefer rock, pop or jazz, but nobody is indifferent to it.
As for me I used to sing in front of the mirror in my childhood. A pencil box served me as a microphone and I imitated a show on the stage. It was a great fun!
At present I can’t spend a day without music. In the morning I prefer fast rhythmical music. It’s like a cup of coffee or a cool shower that encourages you and freshens you up. So, since the early morning you are in a cheerful spirit and the forthcoming day seems to give many pleasant surprises. Isn’t it a great start of the day?
If you are in a bad humour, you’d better turn to music. Nothing can help you better to forget about your problems than a merry song. Listen to your favourite melody and your spleen will disappear, and you are in a good temper again.
After a hard working day I like to listen to some slow, beautiful melody. It helps me to relax and to forget about my tiredness.
In fact, music is an integral part of my life and I can’t just imagine how I would live without it!

People cannot live without music. They listen to music, dance to music or learn to play musical instruments. There is music everywhere: at home, in a concert hall, in the park, at the seaside, in the forest and even in the street.
Music is not only a combination of pleasant sounds. It is an art which reflects life. Music reflects people’s ideas and emotions. In this world of ours, filled with conflicts, tragedies, joys and hopes, music strives to speak to people of what is most important.
Music in the lives of different people is different: some compose music, others play music, and others only listen to it. A lot of people who cannot play any musical instrument love to listen to music either at home or at a concert. Different people like different kinds of music. You may prefer pop or rock music, country or folk music, classical music or jazz, but you certainly cannot think of a day without music.
As for me, I prefer ________________________ music. I have a lot of CDs. I download music I like on my mobile phone. I try to watch all the programmes dealing with it on TV and to go to the concerts as often as possible. My favourite composer (singer, musician) is ____________________. Different people like different music. The scientists say that they can define your character if they know what music you like. For example, they suppose that people who listen to rock music are very clever and reasonable. British scientists confirm that the most of young people listen to the aggressive music as metal and rock. Scientists say that these people are good students, because of their character and assiduousness. I agree with this statement, because I think that music shows your soul and nature.
As for me, my favorite group is “Linkin Park”. They sing in different styles, such as: alternative, new metal, heavy metal and rock. I like this group because of good texts and unusual musical decisions. This group was formed in 1996. They released 9 albums. I like all their songs without distinction. My favorite song is “In the End”. There are six men in this group: Chester Bennington, Mike Shinoda, Rob Burdon, David Farell, Bred Delson and Joe Hahn. The most prominent person of the group is Chester Bennington. He is very talented. Also I like him because he overcame his drug addiction and made his musical career. He writes poems and composes music.

Nowadays we have relaxing music, which we use in medicine. More helpful than all kinds of music is classical music by such famous composers as Bach, Beethoven, Mozart and Vivaldy.

But what is music? Specialists explain that music isn’t only a combination of pleasant sounds. It is an art which reflects life. There are a lot of different kinds of music. Some of them appeared long ago, and some are modern. For example, folk music appeared long ago, but it is still alive. There are many local performers, choirs and folk groups in Ukraine. Folk songs are very tuneful and pleasant to listen to.
Classical music is often associated with the music of the past. However, this style also includes music being written now, and we may speak of modern classical music.
Rap is a modern musical style where the singer speaks or shouts the words to music with a steady beat. Such groups as Public Enemy or House of Pain are leaders in this style.
Great Britain has produced more popular music stars than any other country. Over the last 30 years rock and pop music have been very popular in Britain. The Beatles, with their style of singing, eloquent and exciting, is still one of the most popular groups. British groups often set new trends in music. New styles, groups and singers continue to appear. Some of the more recent pop groups are Dire Straits, Eurhythmics and Spice Girls. Many of the new bands have been able to use the changes in technology to develop their music. Computerized drum machines, synthesizers and other electronic instruments are now just as popular as the piano and electric guitars.
Tastes differ. So people’s musical interests range from pop and rock music, which are extremely popular nowadays, especially among young people, to classical music and opera.
My favourite style of music is pop music, because it is breathtaking and full of energy. When I listen to pop music it makes me remember happy times and forget the problems of everyday life. It helps me to relax when I’m tired, and entertains me when I’d like to have fun. My favourite group is Abba. It was formed in 1973 in Sweden. Abba’s cheerful tunes made them international pop stars and one of the most successful groups of the seventies. Their most famous songs (“Waterloo”, “Money, Money, Money”, “Knowing Me, Knowing You”, etc.) often topped European charts. Though the group doesn’t exist any more, it is still popular with people of all ages. I can’t but admire their style of singing. I find it fascinating and overwhelming. When I have free time I listen to their records. I also like having background music while I am working.
I don’t mind listening to dance music, especially when I go to disco clubs. This style of music is catchy and I like catchy tunes. It makes me more energetic.
It’s a pity that many young people like to listen only to modern music. As for me, I also enjoy listening to classical music. I find it tuneful and appealing. Classical music is always a complex of emotions. It gives me delight, pleasure and a sense of happiness. Some pieces of classical music are really wonderful. Not long ago I listened to the First Piano Concerto, composed by Tchaikovsky. The power of his music captivated me. The impression was overwhelming.
The music I hate is heavy metal. I find it noisy and dreadful. When I listen to this style of music it presents to my mind pictures of dark days. Though some young people are fond of this style of music, it is not to everyone’s taste. To my mind, too loud music can do damage to our ears. I am indifferent to other styles of music. For example, I don’t mind listening to jazz. Improvisation is an important part of this style, that’s why a jazz song may sound a little different each time it is played. I think that jazz is a mixture of many different kinds of music, but I consider it a bit complicated.
My mother and father approve of my tastes in music. Though they prefer to listen to classical and “bard music”, they think that, on the whole, modern music is not too bad. My parents agree that each generation has its own tastes.
It goes without saying that music plays a very important role in people’s lives. It reflects our moods and emotions. Music appeals to our hearts and transforms our feelings. It conquers our souls and enriches our minds. Besides, listening to music is the perfect way to spend free time and not to feel bored. You can hardly find a person who doesn’t like or need music and who never sings or dances. Music is beauty in sounds; it is our magic source of inspiration.
